GlobalAlerts service offers a wide range of alarm & alert technologies, in order to notify the right person in your organisation that a change has, or is about to occur within your physical assets operational area.
Alerts are configured & maintained by your users & managers, who define alert models, thresholds, conditions, priorities & routing plans on the characteristics of your physical real time data being processed by the Historian service.
GlobalAlerts is an extremely powerful service, as it also allows forward based prediction & trend modelling algorithms to operate on your current & historical physical data, thereby facilitating a method to notify a user a problem has occurred before it happens.
A simple example of this, is a Remote Agent monitoring the operating conditions of an industrial Oven. Since the Remote Agent has been installed, it has been sending information back to the central server, via the Historian service & over a period of weeks an operational model has been built up regarding the working characteristics of the Oven, such as electricity required to achieve the operating temperature.
The enterprise who operate this furnace, fully understand that they cannot afford to experience downtime due to unknown breakdowns. One day, the Oven is switched on from cold as per usual, but unknown to the local engineer, the Oven takes an increase of 2% more electricity to reach the desired temperature, which exceeds the operational tolerance specified by the manufacturer.
The GlobalAlerts service senses a change has occurred within the current physical data & sends an SMS text message, via a mobile phone to the engineer responsible & an email to the director of the enterprise. The main body of the message information reads:
